  • Decision to set a ceiling on a monthly wage base, to be used for the calculation of the award, at 35,000 BDT (under the 2010 minimum wage structure, which corresponds to 39,511 BDT in 2013).

  • Endorsement of Fourth and Fifth Instalments of 459 recommended awards concerning deceased and injured workers, which amount in total to 299,433,178 BDT. Disbursement authorized with a disbursement percentage of 40%. Trustee of the Rana Plaza Donor Trust Fund instructed to transfer the necessary funds in the amount of 90,094,612 BDT (representing 40% of the awarded amounts minus the amounts already received by the beneficiaries from the RPCA and Prime Minister’s Relief Fund) to the RPCA account. A further 41 claims were rejected as ineligible.

  • Decision that until further notice payments (prior to any deduction) will be capped at BDT 2.5 million.

  • Revision of the estimate of the funds required to pay all the awards issued and future medical costs for injuries from the Rana Plaza accident, which is now close to USD 30 million. This new estimate includes income replacement payments and medical and allied care costs. In addition, the CC authorised supplementary payments subsequent to full payment of all awards calculated under Convention 121.

  • Decision, in view of the new estimate, to authorize an additional disbursement of up to 30% of the awarded amounts (minus any amounts to be deducted), subject to availability of funds.

  • The Fifth Revised operating budget was approved, which takes into account a no-cost extension of the RPCA operations until 31 March 2015.
